The award ceremony for the CSI Education Academy competitions — FISO, USA Olympiad, UNICEPT, ADEPT, and TİBMOC — for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at Izmir University of Economics with strong participation. These competitions are organized in Türkiye by FISO, one of the external stakeholders of the Department of Mathematics and the representative of CSI Education Academy. Students, teachers, and parents from different cities across Türkiye came together to celebrate scientific achievement and academic dedication.
While the FISO Global Round final exam took place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the award ceremony held on Sunday, June 21 welcomed approximately 850 participants. Students from grades 2 to 11, representing many cities across Türkiye — including İzmir, İstanbul, Ankara, Eskişehir, Antalya, Hatay, Mersin, Afyon, Denizli, Muğla, Aydın, Samsun, Isparta, Burdur, Çanakkale, and Balıkesir — experienced the excitement of receiving medals for their achievements in national, international, and global rounds.
The opening speech of the ceremony was delivered by Prof. Dr. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, founding dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at Izmir University of Economics. In her speech, she emphasized that such scientific and academic organizations strengthen students’ motivation to learn, enhance their self-confidence, and make significant contributions to their social development. She highlighted that participating in scientific competitions at an early age leaves a lasting impact on students’ educational journeys and also supports universities’ missions of scientific production, social contribution, and leadership in education.
During the ceremony, bronze, silver, and gold medals were presented to students who ranked highly in the national, international, and global rounds. The gold medals were awarded by Dr. Ayşe Beler, a faculty member of our department and a member of the advisory board of CSI Education.
A large number of students from both public and private schools in İzmir also participated in the ceremony. By hosting this inspiring event, which highlights young people’s journeys in science, mathematics, and academic achievement, the Department of Mathematics not only celebrated students’ exam success but also made visible the values of discipline, dedication, curiosity, and international vision they have gained along the way.
