The award ceremony for the CSI Education Academy competitions — FISO, USA Olympiad, UNICEPT, ADEPT, and TİBMOC — for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at Izmir University of Economics with strong participation. These competitions are organized in Türkiye by FISO, one of the external stakeholders of the Department of Mathematics and the representative of CSI Education Academy. Students, teachers, and parents from different cities across Türkiye came together to celebrate scientific achievement and academic dedication.

The results of the “2209-A Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students” carried out by TÜBİTAK (BİDEB), were announced on May 13, 2026. 

The CSI Season 9 Türkiye Final Competition, organized by CSI Education, was held on Saturday, May 2, hosted by İTÜ Development Foundation Schools. Bringing together students from various cities across Türkiye around science, technology, analytical thinking, and teamwork, the event concluded with strong participation and great enthusiasm.

In today’s world, where artificial intelligence, big data, and data analytics are rapidly transforming every aspect of life, the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Master’s Program (Thesis Track) offers a strong opportunity for those who aspire to be at the forefront of this transformation. By combining theoretical knowledge with real-world problems, the program integrates mathematics and statistics with various disciplines ranging from engineering to the social sciences, providing opportunities to specialize in areas such as data analytics, machine learning, and mathematical modeling.

World Mathematics and Pi Day was successfully held with the strong participation of our academics and students.

As the Department of Mathematics at İzmir University of Economics, we will celebrate World Mathematics and Pi Day on March 16, 2026, with a special event. The event will take place on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 14:00 in the D Block Multi-Purpose Hall.
