All lectures, plenary sessions and poster presentations will take place in lecture halls in the main building of Izmir University of Economics.
Dear Symposium Participants, below is given the details about transportation.
Transportation to the university
From the airport
By means of mass transportation
Firstly, you can take HAVAŞ buses to go to downtown (Alsancak-Hotel (Eski) Büyük Efes ).
HAVAŞ Passenger Bus stops:
Our service buses have the bus stops at Karabağlar, Hotel Büyük Efes and Karşıyaka Mavişehir.
Ticket Price: TL 9,50 (inc.VAT)
Note: An increase of 25% is applied to the prices between 24:00 and 06:00.
Duration of the travel: approximately 50 minutes

If you are staying at DEVAK , Princess Hotel or coming directly to Izmir University of Economics
You can take the bus no 169 which has a bus stop right in front of İzmir University of Economics. (The ones who are coming from the DEVAK Hotel you should get off around the Hotel Büyük Efes to get on the bus no 169).
In public transportation in İzmir, you can use Kent-Kart, or you can pay the fee in coins or cash.
By taxi
You can take a taxi from the airport too. It may cost TL 70 to 80 from the airport to İEU or the Hotel Princess. As DEVAK is closer to downtown, the transportation cost of the airport- İEU may be more reasonable.
From the bus terminal
By shuttle buses
There are shuttle buses in the terminal which have various routes. Please get on a bus which will pass through Balçova to get off in front of Teleferik or İzmir University of Economics, which are opposite to each other. This service is free-off-charge but please keep your travel ticket to get on the service bus.
If you are going to the Hotel DEVAK, you can get on a shuttle bus in the Küçükyalı direction.
By taxi
You can take a taxi. You can also use think of sharing the same taxi with your group. It may cost TL 40 to 50 between the terminal and İEU or the Hotel Princess. As The Hotel Devak is closer to downtown, the transportation cost will be more reasonable.
From the train station
There are regular train services from İzmir to Ankara, Istanbul, Denizli, Aydın etc.
For İEU or the Hotel Princess, you must first get on a bus at Basmane to get off at Alsancak or Konak (there are frequent buses and minibuses), Then you must get on the bus no 169. It takes nearly 20 to 25 minutes to get to İEU or the Hotel Princess.
For public transportation in İzmir, you can use Kent-Kart, or you can pay the fee in coins or cash.
Shuttle buses servicing from and to the University
In the second and third days of the conference, in the morning, a shuttle bus will move at 08:30 from the hotels Devak and Princess and will bring you to the conference venue. At nights, when the social program ends, the participants will be taken to the hotels mentioned.
Registration and Information Desk
The ILLSS Registration and Information Desk at the Conference Venue (İzmir University of Economics, main building) is operational as follows:
Saturday, June 13 13:30 -17:00.
Sunday, June 14 13:30 -17:00
Monday, June 15 09:30 -13:00
The registration fee includes the followings
Admission to all the presentation and sessions
Admission to the İzmir University of Economics reception
A conference bag containing the final program, a list of participants, the PROCEEDING of BERE 2009 Book, Certificate of Attendance, two lunch tickets, a notepad and pencil.
A registration envelope containing your name badge, and tickets to social events as indicated on the registration form.
Coffee during coffee breaks all three days.
Badges
Admission to all events (lectures, receptions, lunches) will be by badge and/or ticket/invitation when required. Please wear your badge at all times.
Ask me Persons
Students walking around wearing an "ask me" badge will be ready for your help in case you need on any issue during the symposium.
Book exhibition
The organizers invite all participants to visit the Book Exhibition on the ground floor of the Main Building.
Coffee and Lunch
Coffee will be served for registered participants free of charge on conference days during the coffee breaks indicated in the program. Service will take place in front of the main conference hall.
Lunches are included in the registration fee. The lunches will be served in the restaurant of the Main Building during the hours indicated in the program.
Doctor
Please be informed that for emergency there is a doctor at Floor -2.
Smoking policy
Smoking is allowed only outside the university building.
Currency
Türk Lirası (TL) is the official currency in Turkey. All major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops, etc, but not in taxis. Value added tax is included in all prices. You can find ATMs in the center of İzmir, but the closest one is on the ground floor of the Main Building.
Luggage Storage
For participants needing a temporary storage space for their luggage (e.g. on the first day and the last of the symposium), a luggage room next to main conference hall will be made available.
Hair dresser (Bio-Derm Beauty Center-for women and men)
You can have your hair dressed at Floor (-2) in our dormitory building, next to the main building.

Internet access
Internet can be accessed at the Room K210 in the second floor of the library.

General assembly
All participants are invited to the General Assembly on 16 June at 17:45. The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the organization of future symposiums and to give delegates the possibility to express their views-from the floor on ways of coordinating work within these fields of research and on our symposium.
